Welcome back to our Monster Hunter world, where today, we dive into the intricacies of the Rising Tide skill. This unique ability not only enhances your link attack and defense but also adds a thrilling layer to the gameplay. In this guide, we'll explore how to maximize Rising Tide, the equipment needed to achieve it, and whether it's worth investing in this skill.

Understanding Rising Tide

Before we delve into the equipment and strategies, let's get a clear picture of what the Rising Tide skill brings to the table. Rising Tide is a skill that boosts both attack and defense, and it's available at max level three. This skill is a game-changer, particularly for those seeking a balance between offense and defense.

Rising Tide is an often underestimated skill, but it can significantly boost your attack power and defense as the hunt timer runs out. The longer the hunt, the more potent its effects become, enhancing your prowess as a Hunter.

Equip Jagras Gear

To attain the Rising Tide skill, you'll need specific equipment in your arsenal. The Jagras gear comes to the rescue. The Jagras Mail, a grade six equipment piece, will grant you two levels of Rising Tide. Complementing this, the Jagras Coil at grade four provides an additional level, totaling three levels of Rising Tide.

Focus for Bow Users

For bow users, it's essential to combine Rising Tide with Focus to optimize your playstyle. Focus, a skill that shortens charging time for charge attacks, is perfect for bow users who want to unleash the full potential of their weapons. The Pukei Hood offers one level of Focus, which can significantly enhance your bow gameplay.

Trying the Hammer

But just how much of a boost does Rising Tide provide? To understand its effects better, I conducted a series of tests. I used a hammer to hit a Barroth on the head with the same attack, at each tier of Rising Tide. The results were eye-opening: 358 damage at tier zero, 375 at tier one, and 393 at tier two. This revealed a significant increase in damage between tiers.

However, it's not as simple as a fixed percentage increase. I repeated the test with a different hammer, the Gyros Hammer, and the numbers came out differently. This discrepancy confirms that Rising Tide doesn't provide a fixed percentage boost.

The Flat Attack Increase

The next step was to determine the exact amount of attack granted by each tier of Rising Tide. Comparing the damage output to a known value, I found that the first tier provided 50% more damage than one point of Attack Boost (20 attack). This equates to 30 attack for each tier of Rising Tide. After 50 seconds, you'll be enjoying an impressive 60 attack boost, making it a game-changer in your arsenal.

Assessing the Burst

Now, you may wonder if you need Focus level 3 for your build. The decision ultimately depends on your preferences and playstyle. For some hunters, Focus level 2 may suffice, granting a 25% faster charge rate. This is a sweet spot that ensures quick charging without overcommitting skill points. But if you're a die-hard bow enthusiast, pushing for Focus level 3 is certainly an option for that extra speed.

Testing Rising Tide

Is Rising Tide worth the investment? Well, that's where the real fun begins. To put it to the test, we tried it out with a five-star enchant. The results? Surprisingly easy. It significantly boosts your link attack and defense, making your encounters more manageable.

Next, we ventured into the realm of six-star-scaling. Rising Tide was still a breeze, proving its efficacy as a formidable skill. Even in more challenging battles, it held its ground.

Diablo's Bow: To unleash the full power of Rising Tide, we equipped the Diablo's Bow at grade 7. With this setup, the possibilities are endless, and your hunts become a thrilling experience.

Fine-Tuning Your Strategy

To master Rising Tide, remember to hold your TR button into the first ring. The damage will be low at the beginning. Once you release your TR button and then press it again as you approach the second ring, your damage output will be significantly higher.

This guide is designed for players who are eager to experiment with the Rising Tide skill. Whether it's worth the investment or not depends on your playstyle and preferences. Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below.

Rising Tide is a skill that can elevate your Monster Hunter World journey, and with the right gear, you'll be ready to take on any challenge. Thanks for reading, and we'll see you in the next guide.

Happy hunting!
